About

Maureen Ryan
A former dispensing optician, Maureen discovered the Bowen Technique after using a series of treatments such as chiropractic physiotherapy and massage to treat a lifelong scoliosis back problem. After successful treatments of Bowen Therapy for her condition, Maureen decided to train as a practitioner and qualified as a Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia (BTAA) practitioner in 2006. Maureen has worked with private clients as well as the National Health Service in various vocational rehabilitation programmes throughout North and South Lanarkshire.
Gerry Ryan
Gerry spent more than 30 years with Strathclyde Police and trained as a Bowen practitioner. While serving he suffered an on-duty injury to his shoulder. Gerry had severely restricted shoulder movement which were treated by numerous manipulative therapies for two years with no improvement. However, after his second session of Bowen therapy, he regained full mobility and use of his shoulder, which convinced him of the value of Bowen therapy. In 2008, Gerry became a Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia (BTAA) practitioner, working with private and NHS clients.

Eased my shoulder pain

“I would recommend it to anybody. I haven’t felt better in years. I just painted my whole house and had not been able to do that sort of thing for 10 years. Bowen Therapy has eased my shoulder pain and restriction, my back pain and my jaw pain.”
